My poor darling. I can hear you crying in my room. I was just about to get into the shower, but you are way more important. I make my way down the hall to your Nursery and see you crying in your crib. I pick you up and pat your back. I can feel your warm tears hitting my shoulder, you are so upset. Then I notice your diaper. It is so wet sweetie. It is time for you to get changed.
I gently lay you down on your changing table, undoing the tabs so that I can get your diaper off. I roll it up then throw it away. I use baby wipes to clean you off. Making sure I do not miss any spots. I lean over you and blow raspberries on your tummy as you lay below me. You can feel my boobies on your soft skin. I can tell your little pee-pee is going to get hard, so I know I have to hurry. I get a fresh diaper, lift your bottom up, then place the fresh diaper under you. I sprinkle powder all around. I pull the front of the diaper up, open the tabs and attach them firmly.
I know that after you have your morning change that you want to be fed immediately afterward. I sit down in the rocking chair, making sure your head is in the crook of my arm before brushing my nipple against your mouth. You latch on immediately. I look down at you smiling as you drink in all of my sweet, warm, Mommy milk. Your hand goes up to touch my face, I take it in mine, bringing it to my mouth so that I can kiss it. I love our wake up time.
